GEORGETOWN DEFEATS WILDCATS 32-30
Georgetown's basket ball team defeated the University of Kentucky on the Wildcats floor last night by a score of 32-30. This is the first victory of the Tigers over the Wildcats in basket ball for over ten years.
The score was close thruout, the first half ending 19-14, and the winning two points were made in the last minute of the play. The Georgetown men fought hard thruout, but the State men didn't really fight until the last five minutes of play, when the playing became fast and the crowd went wild with enthusiasm, hoping that the score would at least be a tie.
Georgetown showed the best playing from the first moment of play to the last. They knew how to pass fast and make their passes good, and they knew how to put the ball into the net. They played as a team thruout, but the work of Adams and Siler in the first half and Dean in the second half at basket shooting was striking. Georgetown has on their team three of the varsity men of last year, and the other subbed last year.
The University of Kentucky men were without fighting spirit until the end of the game. They failed to pass in snappy fashion and could not hit the basket, tho they had plenty of chances. They failed to follow the ball late every action, Dishman and Burnham at guard and Thomas at forward played the most spectacular ball.
