Obituary - Bruce O. Bartee, Lexington Herald (December 7, 1968)
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Reese Bartee; a daughter, Mrs. William K. Blue Jr., Lexington and three grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at the Powell Funeral Home by the Rev. Linville Berryman. Burial will be in the Clay City Cemetery. Bearers will be Edmon Burgher, Edsel Mounts, Shelby Martin, Lester Carr, John Kennon and Harold Dye. The body is at the funeral home.
Services for Mr. Bartee, Stewart Houston (Dover, TN) Times (January 15, 1969)
Mr. Bruce Orlean Bartee, son of the late Jack and Katherine Bartee of Cleveland, Ohio, died December 5, 1968, just one week after his mother's death. He had been in poor health the past three years, having suffered a severe heart attack three years ago. He spent his young life in Louisville, Ky. and graduated from Male High with honors. He played basketball - also was an excellent swimmer and track team competitions.
Mr. Bartee spent many summer with his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Tishel on their farm near Dover.
After graduation from Male High, he entered K.S.U. at Lexington, Ky. Engineering Department where he graduated near the top of his class. He was a member of the firm of Broadhead-Garet of Cleveland, Ohio where he and his family had resided during his entire adult life. A month ago he entered St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky. to be near the family of his only daughter, Mrs. William Blue.
He was 71 years of age November 3. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Reece Bartee and one daughter, Betty Bartee Blue, and three grandchildren all of Lexington, Ky. Some of his first cousins are John Bartee of Trenton, Ky., Mrs. Lurline Larson and Launa Gray of Cadiz, Ky., Mrs. Sam Brandon of Ashland City, Mrs. Bell Ed Futrell, Mrs. Marshall Cothram, of Nashville, Mrs. Newman Brandon of Nashville, Mrs. Grover C. Graham of Symsonia, Ky., all of whom are deeply grieved to hear of his passing.
The funeral and burial was held at Clay City, Ky. on Dec. 17, 1968 at Clay City, Ky. Cemetery where Mrs. Bartee's family are buried.
