STATE WINS 52-10
OVERWHELMS CENTRAL UNIVERSITY BASKET BALL TEAM, WHICH PLAYS A VERY POOR CONTEST
In a one-sided game, the State University basket ball team defeated the Central University team by the overwhelming score of 52 to 10 on the State University floor Thursday night before a large attendance.
The Danville team seems sadly in need of material for a basket ball team. Ramsey and Wingo tried hard and made a game effort, but with the poor assistance they received from the other men on the five, it was almost useless, for it takes a good team with all five players n the game to handle the Blue and White boys, who boast this year of having the strongest basket ball team in years.
At the end of the first half the score was 21 to 4 and when the last half was begun State had substituted its entire second team and then Central could score but four field goals and two fouls during both halves.
State's next game is with the University of Tennessee here next Wednesday. The State girls will play the Somerset High School girls on the State floor Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock.
