Obituary - PRESTON, Arizona Republic (Phoenix) (February 18, 1929)
PRESTON, Roscoe C., passed away Saturday at a local hospital; residence 350 N. 16th St. three years. The remains will be taken this evening to Richardson, Kentucky, for interment. A.L. Moore & Sons in charge.
Roscoe Preston Dies At Home in Arizona The Big Sandy News (February 22, 1929)
Atty. Roscoe C. Preston, formerly of this county, died Saturday at his home in Phoenix, Arizona, according to word received here.
He was for several years city attorney of Catlettsburg. Mr. Preston had been at Phoenix a long time in search of health. His family was with him. He is survived by his wife and three young sons. The body will be brought to Richardson, Ky., for burial and interment will be made there Friday morning. Mr. Preston was a son of the late Mat Prestan of Nats Creek.
R.C. Preston Buried At Richardson Friday The Big Sandy News (February 29, 1929)
Roscoe C. Preston, who died suddenly at his home in Phoenix, Ariz., was buried at Richardson, Ky., last Friday. Mr. Preston was a prominent young attorney of the Catlettsburg bar before going West to reside. He graduated from the State University of Lexington in 1912 with an A.B. degree and in 1913 graduated from the University with an L.D. degree. He was noted as a star athlete in baseball in Kentucky. He was married in 1914 to Miss Jane C. Gaines of Frankfort, Ky., and to his union three sons were born, who survive him. He served as City Attorney of Catlettsburg. Before going West he was a member of the firm of Damron & Preston at Williamson W. Va.. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.C. Pierce of Catlettsburg. Mrs. Preston and three sons will visit relative in Ashland for several months. The following attended the funeral Friday: Mr. and Mrs. R.C.
