Wildcats Gash a Gang of Gators:
UK shot 50% from beyond the 3 point line to drill the Florida Gators 86-72 in the Saturday afternoon session of the SEC Tournament. It was Kentucky's 7th straight victory. [JNB note - due to circumstances beyond my control, I was unable to tape the Florida game, so my descriptive coverage is limited.]
UK shot 62.1% from the floor in the 1st half, and 70% from 3 point range. After the Gators took a 15-13 lead, UK exploded on a 16-1 run led by 2 3 point shots and a regular basket from reserve Chris Harrison. Antoine Walker hit 2 3s within 49 seconds, and finished with a team high 21 points. Thirteen of his points came during a 30-9 UK run. The Cats led 58-41 with 12:30 left in the contest and never looked back. Florida staged a minor run to come to within 73-63 with 3:28 left in the game, but could not get closer.
