Kentucky Whips the Hoosiers:
Kentucky delayed the 600th victory celebration of Indiana's Bobby Knight for at least a few days as the Wildcats beat the Hoosiers in Freedom Hall by a score of 81-78.
UK absolutely lived and died by the 3 in this one, hitting 16 of 38 from long distance. The game was unique in that 4 players each scored 29 points for game-high honors. Although Kentucky led for most of the game, a late IU rally with around 5 minutes left threatened to squash the Wildcat's hopes. But some great defensive work by Roderick Rhodes on Calbert Cheaney (who was held without a FG for the last 6 minutes of the game) and some clutch 3 point shooting by Travis Ford saved the day. Damon Bailey's off-balance 3 point shot with 4 seconds left bounced into Martinez's hands, and the game was over.
Travis Ford's 29 points (many on 3 pointers, but including some driving shots to the basket when no one picked him up) was his career high.
