Odds and Ends from the St John's Game:
Poor Jamal Mashburn had a bad game, scoring only 7 points, in a rather lackluster effort on both team's parts. There was too muching woofing and too little basketball (and too many free throws) in this contest, but UK managed to eke out an 86-77 win (Kentucky trailed at the half 34-33).
Roderick Rhodes, after a slow start, took game-high honors with 23 points and was named the tournament MVP. Travis Ford also made the all-tournament team.
UK raised its record to 25-9 against Big East schools. Their last contest against a BE team was a loss to Pitt last season.
