Kentucky, A.A.C. Defeats Bulldogs By Large Scores
The University of Georgia basketball team bowed is head in two defeats last week; the Kentucky quintet with a 36-23 win and the A.A.C. outfit with a 51-38 score were the respective winners.
In the first game in Kentucky, the Georgia basketeers were in hot water from the very first. When the half ended the score was Kentucky 18, Georgia 8. The Red and Black team staged a spirited rally but it was all to no avail. They had shot their bolt and while they kept trying, their efforts had little in the way of skill to recommend them to the attention of the scorekeeper. The game ended with Kentucky's flock of substitutes going strong and leading by 13 points.
In the second game in Atlanta the Bulldogs were again decisively defeated when the Atlanta Athletic club, led by Cy Bell's excellent shooting, flashed through to a 51-38 victory.
This game was a real upset after the severe drubbing the Bulldogs had administered the same Atlanta quintet here in Athens recently. In fact, it was an upset after the showing of the two teams in the first half.
It was not until the final minutes of the final half that the Club five began to pull away. Until then ti was just a basketball game that swung this way and that like the pendulum of grandfather's clock.
