STATE FIVE BEATS ASHLAND 30-19
ASHLAND, KY, Jan. 21. -- The basket ball five from State Univesity wrested the bacon from the quintette of the local Y.M.C.A. last night by a score of 30 to 19. The feature of the game was the guarding of Scott and Tuttle, and the great offensive work of Preston, all of State.
Shanklin scored every point made for Ashland, making 14 out of 20 free throws, and two goals from field. Tom Zerfoss made 6 out of 15 free-throws, and five goals from the field. Morgan made two field goals, Preston two, Tuttle two, Scott one.
Karl Zerfoss, substitute center for State, went in the game for a while.
