MARIETTA SWAMPED
BOOSTED OHIO TEAM MAKES MISERABLE SHOWING AND IS DEFEATED BY STATE BY SCORE OF 42 TO 16
Another Ohio team was forced to bow to the prowess of the State University basketball team Thursday night in the Armory when the five from Marietta College were completely swamped by the score of 42 to 16. The State team played an excellent game and the passing and goal shooting was the best of the season. The visitors played listless and demoralized ball all the way through, and whatever knowledge they had concerning the net game apparently vanished before the fast and sustained attack of the Wildcats. The Ohioans were somewhat crippled by the absence of one or two of their best players. Preston at center played the best game this season and he scored about half of the points for State.
