Obituary - Tuttle, William P., Yakima (WA) Herald Republic (April 6, 1981)
William P. Tuttle, 89, of Route 8, Box 697, died Saturday in St. Elizabeth Hospital.
He was born in Morland Ky. Mr. Tuttle was a graduate of the University of Kentucky where he played football and baseball. He was also a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He received a master's degree from Kansas State College.
He moved to Hawaii with his wife in 1920 where he was employed by the California Packing Co. on Oahu. He and his wife moved to Maui in 1932 where he became the manager of the newly formed Maui Pineapple Co. Mr. Tuttle was also chairman of the Maui County Police Commission for 20 years.
He moved to Yakima three weeks ago.
Mr. Tuttle is survived by his wife, Helen Tuttle of Yakima; two daughters, Mrs. Patrick (Sue) Walker of Yakima and Mrs. William (Polly) Metz of Reno, Nev.; a brother, Arthur A. Tuttle of Lexington, Ky; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
