Obituary - Knoxville News-Sentinel (December 5, 1997)
Bill Bailey, who was inducted into the Knoxville Sports Hall of Fame in 1991, died Wednesday. Bailey was captain of the Knoxville High School state champion basketball team of 1941 and played basketball at Tennessee 1942-47. He also played one season at Duke while stationed there with the Marine Corps in 1943. Bailey officiated games for the TSAA for 25 years and was scoreboard operators for UT football games at Neyland Stadium from 1967 through last season. Friends are being received at Mann's Heritage Chapel from 6 to 8 tonight.
