(UPI) - Tom Parker bagged 9 of his 24 points during the overtime period as Kentucky's third-ranked Wildcats edged previously unbeaten and 11th ranked Indiana Saturday, 95-93.
Kentucky slipped behind, 74-67, with 5:36 to play but Indiana commited three straight errors and the Wildcats tied the game at 76-76 with 3:26 remaining.
The teams were deadlocked, 80-80 after regulation time. Indiana's John Ritter hit a 60-foot desperation shot with 3 seconds left but the basket was disallowed because an Indiana teammate had called time out.
Parker's 24 points topped the 4-0 Wildcats. Kent Hollenbeck hit 19, Mike Casey got 18, and Tom Payne and Mark Soderberg each scored 13.
Indiana's George McGinnis led all scorers with 38 points.
Both teams had starters on the bench with injuries, Larry Steele for Kentucky and Steve Downing for the Hoosiers.
