Wesleyan Gives State Surprise
Fast and Exciting Basket Ball Game on Local Floor Saturday Night Two Games Scheduled for This Week
Saturday night on the local floor the Wesleyan Panthers held the Ky. Wild Cats to the close score of 18 to 13. The game was fast and exciting from start to finish featured by close guarding by both teams, this being shown by the score which at the end of the first half stood 5 to 4 in State's favor.
State was quite surprised by the fighting spirit of the Wesleyan quintet which was manifested more in this game than any other game of the season.
This week Wesleyan has two games scheduled for the entertainment of the people of Winchester. Tuesday night they will meet Georgetown in a battle which is expected to be faster and more exciting than the game of last Saturday night. March 1 The University of Louisville both boys' and girls' teams will visit Winchester in quest of Wesleyan scalps. As these two games are the biggest of the season and bring it to a close don't fail to cme out and support the college.
