Wildcats Win From Cincy
Lavin is Newcomer in Wildcat Ranks but Takes Off Honors; Isserman Shines Forth
TABLES ARE TURNED
The University of Kentucky took the revenge she longed for on the University of Cincinnati basketball five last night to the tune of 34-21. The game was played on the Wildcats' floor.
How the Cincinnati bunch won the former game against the State quintet is not clear, if they played no better grade of ball than they put up last night. They played a rough but unscientific game throughout. Their playing was marked by repeated attempts to throw goals from the middle of the floor and even further away. Only one field goal was thrown by the forwards and that came in the last few minutes of play. The center, Isserman, was lucky with seven long shots and saved his team from being swamped.
Lavin played his first game for the State team this season and played such a fast game that he was the center of attention during the evening. Burnham played his usual fighting game at guard and tossed two field goals after fast dashes down the floor. Everett matched Lavin in field goals, throwing five. Thomas looked like he was trying to do some starrring on several occasions, attempting long shots at the goal instead of passing it to men who were open. While the State men have improved in their team work and passing, they have yet to develop more speed in passing and to keep moving around. Several times during the game last night the ball was stationary for a minute at a time, in the hands of both teams.

University of Kentucky Will Try to Redeem Defeat by Ohio City Team Recently
TO AIR LONG RIVALRY
Kentucky's Wildcats will make a final effort to even up old scores Friday night when the University of Cincinnati's basketball team takes the floor against them in the gymnasium of the University of Kentucky at 8 o'clock.
For years the two schools have been bitter rivals with Kentucky so far having the edge on the number of victories since the two schools have been competing against one another. Some weeks ago Cincinnati surprised Kentucky's followers when they defeated the Wildcats in a hard fought basketball game, the final score being 23 to 18.
With a victory to the credit of Cincinnati, the Red and Black team will come here for the contest full of confidence. Meanwhile the Wildcats have been practicing hard, confident that they cannot be beaten on their own floor by Cincinnati.
