Nick Kearns, Former Big Nine Referee, Dies
Chicago, March 12 (AP) - Nick Kearns, 52, a Western conference football and basketball official for 31 years until he retired three years ago, dropped dead at his home today of a heart attack. He served as superintendent of charities for the state of Illinois until relieved of that position a week ago.
