Wildcats Lose by 22-12 Count

Vanderbilt flashed a brilliant floor game against the southern championship five of the University of Kentucky here tonight and completely outplayed the champs in every department or a 22 to 12 victory.

Only three field goals were attributed to the All-Southern stars of Kentucky, so effectively did Tom Ryan and Manning Brown block their path. The other six points credited the Blue Grass entry came by the foul route.

Bell was the outstanding star for the Vandy team with five field goals and two fouls for a total of 12 points. Brown collected four baskets and Embry one for the remainder of the scoring. The Kentuckians were completely outplayed in the opening half with the score standing 16 to 5. Vanderbilt resorted to a pure defensive game in the final periods and scored six points against the Wildcats' seven.

The Commodores' floor work was far above that of the Kentuckians throughout the greater portion of game. Bill King's work was the outstanding feature of the Wildcat's play, though he was able to get only two field goals against the Commodores.

The Kentucky team was almost the same team that won the S.I.A.A. tourney at Atlanta last season. The win gives Vandy a strong standing for this year's tourney in February.
