The State University basket ball team took their first game from the Lexington High School team Saturday afternoon by a score of 28 to 9. The game was played in the State University gymnasium and was witnessed by a large crowd. Game Writeup - Lexington Herald
In a game of basket ball in which they were outclassed the Lexington High School was defeated yesterday afternoon by the State University team by a score of 29 to 9.
While the High School team put up a good game, they were unable to do anything to the big State boys, who were much heavier and a better team. The game was rough.
While the High School team is good at goal throwing, they did not have a chance as their forwards were covered at every point of the game by the guards of the Blue and White team.
As the High School team defeated Transylvania last Wednesday and they in turn defeated by the State team the "dope sheet" gives State the advantage by a good score. The State University team is very enthusiastic over the good showing made by the team at the first of the season and they hope to keep a clean score card for the rest of the season.
