Obituary - Chief Engineer Fox A Pneumonia Victim, Dayton (OH) Journal (December 19, 1918)
Had Attained Distinction as One of Best in His Profession
Walter C. Fox, chief engineer of the United States Structural company, and one of the most widely known member of the profession, died at the Miami Valley hospital last night after a brief illness of pneumonia. He was 31 years old.
Mr. Fox was born and raised in Newport, Ky., and had attained distinction as an engineer before he came to Dayton six years ago. One of his greatest achievements here was the completion of a large building for the Recording and Computing Scales company in 30 days, while his advice on numerous big engineering projects was considered valuable. He was prominently identified with Masonic organizations, and took an active part in the activities of the Engineers' club.
The body will be taken to Newport today, by his brother, George Fox, where the funeral will take place Friday.
