Obituary - RODES, Kentucky Citizen (Paris) (October 20, 1950)
Mr. Rodes died early Wednesday morning at the Good Samaritan hospital after a brief illness.
He was a native of Lexington, the son of the late Dr. Wiliam and Mary Ford Higgins Rodes. He received his early education in Lexington schools and later attended the University of Kentucky, where he was a varsity letterman in football, basketball and track.
Mr. Rodes held a master's degree from the University, was a member of Sigma Chi social fraternity and an elder in the Maxwell Street Presbyterian church.
His survivors include his wife, Mrs. Katherine Logan Rodes; two sisters, Mrs. Wallace Kelly Sr., and Mrs. Horace H. Wilson, both of Lexington, and a brother, J. Waller Rodes, Coronado, Calif.
