DEFEATS STATE COLLEGE IN ONE OF HOTTEST BASKET BALL GAMES EVER SEEN IN SCOTT COUNTY CAPITAL
The State college basket ball team was defeated Thursday night at Georgetown by the Georgetown College team by the score of 19 to 8. Georgetown led off with dashing play and had gained nine points before State scored. At the end of the first half the score stood: K.S.C. 2, G.C. 12. In the second half the play was slackened some. State took a brace and threw goals from field, which Georgetown soon overcome with seven additional points. State threw two fouls, and the game ended 19 to 8. Georgetown had superior speed and team work, while State showed the most endurance. The G.C. boys were thoroughly acquainted with every foot of their gymnasium, and threw the goals with greater ease.
A large crowd of State College girls and boys accompanied the team to Georgetown to see the game.
As a result of this game and their recent defeat of Central, Georgetown is several points in the lead for the State championship.
