That's what Coach Rick Pitino's record is now against Syracuse. The Orangemen defeated the Cats 93-85 in the Carrier Dome.

Syracuse started with a phenomenal shooting percentage in the first half (68%), and like Arkansas they used speed to throw over UK's press for layups. Kentucky continually left the basket undefended and often fouled the shooter as he made his shot. Adrian Autry used his superior size to shoot over Travis Ford, and finished with 30, one point shy of his all time record.

UK fell behind by 12 in the first half but battled back to be down by 48-43 at the half. The Orangemen ran out to a 59-45 lead within the first 3 minutes of the second half. Six minutes later the Cats took a 62-61 lead on a Walter McCarty tip-in. Kentucky even went ahead by 76-71 (its biggest lead of the game) on a Travis Ford 3 pointer, his only score of the day. But then Syracuse went on a 6-0 binge to take the lead. UK went up 81-79 on a tip-in by Rhodes, and Rodrick later tied the game for the last time at 83-83.

Tony Delk matched his career high with 27 points, with decent FG, 3 pointer, and FT percentages (unlike his game against Arkansas), but it wasn't enough. Autry put Syracuse ahead to stay with a three point play at the one minute mark of the game. Repeated misses and fouls by Kentucky accounted for the 8 point final margin.
