STATE WINS 20-14
UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE HAD LONG STREAK OF LUCK BUT IT IS STOPPED HERE
After winning eight straight games, the University of Tennessee basketball team was brought to an abrupt halt last night in the Auditorium by State University five who defeated them in their first game of a series of two here by a score of 20 to 14.
Both teams appeared to be about evenly matched with a little advantage on the side of the local players, who were familiar with the floor on which they were playing.
During the first half but one field goal was scored by the visitors and when time was called the score board showed State University ten points to University of Tennessee's four.
In the second half the visitors improved materially and had a better break of luck.
During this period both teams scored ten points and at the close of the game the score board showed State University twenty; University of Tennessee, fourteen.
The same teams will play tonight at the Auditorium, beginning at 8 o'clock, Friday night they will play Louisville Y.M.C.A. at Louisville and Saturday night they will end their Kentucky invasion with an engagement with the University of Louisville.
