The game played Monday evening in Buell Armory at State University, between the State University and DePauw University basketball teams resulted in a rather one sided score, though the game was interesting and hard fought throughout. The visitors took the game by the score of 24 to 11, their excellent team work outclassing the State University boys. The result of the game was a decided surprise to the backers of the Lexington team however, as DePauw was defeated by Central University Saturday night by a margin of about twenty points.

DEPAUW TAKES GAME FROM LOCAL TEAM
State University Makes a Hard Fight But Loses - Score 24 to 11
By a wide score of 24 to 11, State University basketball team lost her first game this season Monday evening to the team from DePauw University.
The defeat came as an absolute surprise to the State Supporters as the same team was defeated by Central University only a few days ago by about twenty points.
However, the victory was earned by the visitors in one of the best displays of high class basketball ever seen at the university and their team work was so perfect that there was never a time when they did not out-class their opponents.
The game was called at a little after 8 o'clock in Buell Armory and first blood was gotten by Crick of the visitors who threw a pretty field goal. This was rapidly followed by three others and one foul for DePauw and two fouls and one field goal by State.
At the beginning of the second half, Crosthwaite took the place of Threlkeld at guard for state, but it was impossible for the home team to make any gains on their strong opponents.
