Defeats Kentucky University in Rough Game Before a Large Crowd - Score 41 to 25
In a rough and scrappy game fought desperately to the end the Cincinnati Varsity basket ball team defeated the Kentucky University five by the score of 41 to 25 on Cincy's floor yesterday afternoon. One of the largest crowds that has ever been packed in the local Gym was present to see the game.
It was the first time this year that Coach Inott's bunch performed at home and Kentucky, although game to the end and were hard workers, was simply outclassed. The whole Cincinnati team played well with Tiny Moore, McMinn and Eastman holding up the sensational part of it. For the visitors, Plummer played a very sensational game, and during the latter part of the second half his work was well applauded. He threw four field goals in less than three minutes of playing and each one was after a very difficult toss.
Barbee also played a fair game for the visitors, but lost in popular favor when he assaulted Tiny Moore, of the local team for some uncalled-for reason.
Eastman was knocked out once in a scramble and so was Plummer, but neither were hurt very seriously. The score at the end of the first half was 22 to 7 in favor of Cincinnati. The next game Cincy plays will be with the Transylvania College of Lexington, Ky. at Cincinnati.

STATE UNIVERSITY IS BEATEN BY CINCINNATI
Queen City Team Defeats the Kentucky Lads by the Score of 41 o 25
CINCINNATI, O., Jan. 19. - The basket ball team of the University of Cincinnati this afternoon defeated the team from the Kentucky State University by a score of 41 to 25.
The game started promptly at one o'clock and was finished by two. All through the game the Cincinnati team had the best of the play as their work and guarding was much better than that of the Kentucky five.
The forwards of the Kentucky team put up a splendid game but even at that they were outclassed by the superior playing of the Cincinnati boys.
The game was a good one and was as clean a game as has been seen in the city for some time, there being little rough play.
