Team Flies the Track and No Game is Played -- K.U. Beats S.C.
The game of basket ball that was to have been played last night between the teams of Kentucky University and Georgetown College was called off because of failure to agree on a referee. Georgetown contended that Mr. Kline, the physical director, should act as referee during the entire game. To this K.U. would not agree, but proposed that Mr. Kline referee one half and a State College man the other half. Neither side would yield and the Georgetown boys returned to Georgetown. It was said that they did not want to play the game, fearing the result with two players injured.
A large crowd was present and would have been disappointed if the State College team, which was present, had not agreed to play against K.U. Their offer was accepted and an interesting game resulted, K.U. winning by a score of 12 to 5.

A DELAYED DISPATCH
GEORGETOWN, KY., Feb. 12 -- Nothing short of consternation reigned in basket ball circles this morning when Jones, the star guard, appeared on the college campus with his arm in a sling. In view of the fact that the local team is to play K.U. tonight, Jones' injury is a matter of serious consequence. The injury is a sprain and is the result of falling from a train two days ago. Jones was absent from college yesterday, attending his sister's wedding, and it was not known until today that he would be out of the game tonight.
Sutton, who played in the first K.U. game is also disabled, having burned his shoulder on a radiator during practice.
Capt. Parrigin realizes that he has the hardest task of the season to beat the K.U. team in its own gymnasium. But he has some splendid subs and will put up a game fight, as his team always does.

UNABLE TO AGREE UPON REFEREE
GEORGETOWN BASKET BALL TEAM RETURNED HOME WITHOUT PLAYING THE GAME - K.U. DEFEATED SCRUB TEAM.
The game of basket ball which was to have been played last night between Kentucky University and Georgetown was called off because of a failure to agree on the referee. The Georgetown players arrived and were on the ground ready to play when the question of referee was raised. K.U. contended that half of the game should be refereed by a Lexington man, while Georgetown maintained that they have the right to have their referee during the entire game. Neither side would yield a point, and the result was that the Georgetown players returned to Georgetown on the next car. There was much feeling and the Georgetown boys were called "yellow" because they would not yield the point and play the game with the K.U. referee ruling one half of the game. It was said that they did not want to play because two of their men, Jones and Sutton, were crippled and the Georgetown men were afraid of the result of the game.
Not wishing to disappoint those who had assembled to see the game a "scrub" team was picked from the State College students present and a game was played which resulted in favor of K.U. by a score of 12 to 5.
Andrews and Montgomery were the officials of the game. K.U. made two scores on fouls and ten on goals. State College scored one on a foul and four on goals.
In the game recently played in Georgetown K.U. suffered defeat. In that game they allowed Georgetown to have a referee for one half of the game and content that they should be accorded the same courtesy.
