BETZ
Richard Irvin Betz, 84, widower of Helen Price Betz, of Lexington, died Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospital East. Born August 27, 1918 in Ludlow, KY, he was the son of the late Richard L. and Sarah Baird Betz.
He was a graduate of Transylvania University and the University of Kentucky. A member and elder of the Woodland Christian Church he was a Navy veteran of World War II and retired from the Kentucky Department of Education.
Survivors include two daughters, Gail Manning, Danville and Bettye Jo (Tom) Isherwood of Waleska, GA; one son, Richard Betz, Jr., Lexington; a brother, Donald Betz of Cincinnati; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services: 10:00 a.m. Monday, W.R. Milward Mortuary - Southland with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
