Herbert Pailet Dies in New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Herbert Pailet, a charter member of the New Orleans Mid-Winter Sports Association which sponsors the Sugar Bowl, died Friday at the age of 84.
Pailet, a native of New Orleans, was for many years athletic director of the Young Men's Hebrew Association.
Unit his retirement earlier this year, he worked as manager at Security Sporting Goods in New Orleans.
Pailet was active in the Amateur Athletic Union and the American Softball Association. He was a founder and long-time adviser of Freed-Goldberg, Alaph Zadick Alaph, the B'nai B'rith youth organization.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Albert Schiffman and Mrs. Robert Richmond of New Orleans; a son Gus Pailet of Baton Rouge, two sisters, eight grand children and one great-grandchild.
