Charles Schroetter, Lawyer 60 Years
Charles A. Schroetter, 83, Covington lawyer for 60 years, a three letter athlete at he University of Cincinnati and basketball coach there, 1907-08, died Sunday at his home, 45 Leathers Rd., Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky.
Mr. Schroetter began his law practice in 1910 and never announced retirement. He was a graduate of Covington High School, now Holmes High, a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Law School now he U.C. law school.
He lettered in basketball, football and baseball at UC.
Mr. Schroetter was past master of Covington Lodge F&AM No. 109, past eminent commander of Covington Commandry No. 7, Knights Templar, past master of Kenton Council Royal and Select Masons, past high priest of Covington Chapter No. 35 Royal Arch Masons, first and past worthy patron of Covington Daylight Chapter order of Eastern Stars, past vernable master, Delta Lodge of Perfection Indra Consistory, Scottish Rites and a 33rd degree Mason.He was a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and past president of the Kenton County Bar Association. He served as senand (sic) and Florence and was attorney for General Saving and Loan Association. He was president of the Kentucky Building and Loan League and a president of the Covington Optimist Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Croninger Schroetter; two daughters, Mrs. John T. (Ema Lou) Pfau and Mrs. Ben F.O. (Grace C) Keam Jr., both of Ft. Mitchell; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation, 4 to 7 p.m. Monday. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery.
