STATE UNIVERSITY DEFEATS WESLEYAN
WINCHESTER, Ky., Jan 8. -- Wesleyan's speedy basket ball team held the strong five from Kentucky State University to a 12-12 score here Saturday night in the auditorium at the end of the second half of a hard fought game, but lost in the play off, 14 to 12. The game was one of the closest and most interesting ever played on the local floor.

The State University basket ball team won its game from Kentucky Wesleyan College at Winchester Saturday night. It was one of the best contests ever played by Inter-collegiate teams. The score was 14 to 12, this result being reached after a stirring play-off of a tie. When the second half ended, the score was 12 to 12. The teams then played off the tie, the State team winning 14 to 12. The State lineup was Barbee (Capt.) and Crosthwaite, guards; Fox, center; Plummer and Marks, forwards; S. Shanklin and Shawhan, substitutes. Coach Sparr and Manager Bridges accompanied the team.
