Fast Game
Central won the second game of the championship series on Saturday night by a score of 36 to 20. State won the first game of the series so that a hard fought game was expected, but the contest was undoubtedly the snappiest ever seen on the local floor. The first half was almost a walk-over for Central in point of score, but State fought for every inch. Mason opened the game with a field goal in the first minute of play and seven points were placed to Central's credit before State could locate the basket. The Central boys played with a vim that could not be resisted and although time and again State seemed on the verge of making a goal the guards of Central swooped down and carried it out of danger. The first half ended with the score 25 to 6 in favor of Central. It seemed at first that the second half would be but a repetition of the first when Seelbach made a pretty field goal in the first half-minute of play, but State played harder and seemed to have gotten on their feet against as they soon piled up several field goals and it appeared that the game might yet be close. Central however, held her lead and the half ended with the score 36 to 20. For Central it was practically an all-star game, every man playing in fine style, although Capt. Seelbach and Mason were particularly fortunate in hitting the basket. For State, Post and Barbee were the stars. The next game with State will decide the championship in all probability, as State and Central have both won one game.
