Former Ole Miss Basketball Coach Ed Murphy Dies at 78

Former Ole Miss basketball coach Ed Murphy passed away on Monday at the age of 78.
Murphy coached at Ole Miss from 1986 to 1992, leading the Rebels to an 86-116 record over his tenure, including two trips to the NIT Tournament.
Following his stint in Oxford, Murphy would continue on to coach for 15 years at the University of West Georgia, retiring in 2007. He also coached at Delta State University and the University of West Alabama.
In 2015, he was elected into the Gulf South Conference Hall of Fame.
Services for Murphy will be held next Monday, Feb. 24, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Carrollton, Ga.
