Obituary - Roger X. Day Jr., Doylestown (PA) Intelligencer (August 14, 2001)
Roger X. Day Jr. of Horsham died Aug. 13, 2001 at his residence. He was 76.
He was the husband of the late Dorma J. Bersch Day.
Born in Brunswick, Md., he was the son of the late Roger X. Day Sr. and Asenath Ebbert Day.
Mr. Day was a Navy veteran of World War II. In 1949 he graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor of arts degree in English. While there he was member of the 1948-49 Kentucky Wildcats NCAA Championship basketball team.
He was employed as a district sales manager with General Motors Chevrolet Division for 35 years before retiring in 1990.
An avid golfer and gardener, he was a member of the Crooked Billet Garden Club and the Philadelphia Horticultural Society.
He is the father of Julie A. Bebey of Maple Glen, Gregory J. Day of Fort Washington, Roger X. Day III of Horsham and Donna M. Pilla of Warrington. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may call 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home of Louis Swift Plunkett, 529 N. York Road, Hatboro. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 321 Witmer Road, Horsham. Interment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont. NO MORNING VIEWING.
