STATE COLLEGE
DEFEATS CENTRAL UNIVERSITY BY CLOSE SCORE OF 15 TO 14
In one of the cleanest and best games of the basket ball season the Cadet lads of State College defeated the plucky team from Central University Friday afternoon at the State College gymnasium. The game was very exciting to the large crowd of enthusiastic lovers of athletic sports which had assembled to witness the game.
At the end of the first half it seemed that the game would be a walk-over for the Cadets, as the score stood 12 to 3 in their favor. But in the second half the Central boys took courage and played much better than in first half. Most of State's goals were made by field goals. Barbee and Baer put up the best work at throwing goals. Dosker took the lead in throwing goals for Central, though goals were made by each of the players. On the whole the game was a very good one for the beginning of the season.
A very commendable feature of the game was the perfect fairness dealt out to both teams by the referee and umpire. Through impartial decisions of the officials much wrangling is often done away with.
