GEORGETOWN WINS BALL GAME
The first basket ball game ever played at State College took place yesterday afternoon between Georgetown College and State College teams. The latter team was defeated by a score of 15 to 6, when the game began at 4 o'clock the gymnasium was packed with rooters for the two teams who continually applauded the brilliant plays of their respective colleges. The initial game was a success in every particular. The game was very interesting and both teams gave an excellent exhibition of basket ball playing. Georgetown had the advantage on account of having been in training since last fall and having played a number of games, while the local team had had only a few days' practice. The cadets said the visitors were perfect gentlemen and played clean ball. At the contest last night they continually gave one another's college yells.
Georgetown chartered two cars and brought about fifty of the Rucker Hall girls, which probably caused the boys to win.
