Note: The Kirin World Tournament was an event sponsored by the Kirin Brewery Company of Japan. This event was held in the early to mid-1980s and generally consisted of a four-team tournament between the host Japanese national team, an invited American college team and two other national teams. In the early years, a double round-robin format was used; later on the format was reduced to a traditional four-team tournament format. The games were held in various cities around Japan.
