Obituary - James Weber, Stanford (KY) Interior Journal (June 30, 1988)
James Weber, 67, of 3266 Elmhurst Court, Lexington Ky., died Sunday, June 26 at his residence.
He was born in Pettisville, Ohio to the late Andrew and Inez Waldvogel Weber.
Weber was a retired FHA, VA and HOW building inspector, a retired building contractor, a disabled American veteran serving in the U.S. Army during WWII and a member of Southside Community Church. He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky where he was highly recruited by Adolph Rupp to play basketball and also participated on the track team in the early 40's.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Powell Weber; two daughters, Virginia Weber Denny and son-in-law, David J. Denny, Jr., Louisville, and Julia Ann Weber, Lexington; two brothers, Stanley Weber and wife Dolly, Rossford, Ohio, and Clyde Weber and wife Marge, or Michigan; one sister, Wanda Weber, Pettisville, Ohio; brothers and sister-in-law, Mary and O.E. Smith, Louisville, Ila and T.O. Ralston, Ft. Myers, Fla., Bill and Ruth Powell, Bradford Ohio; an uncle Bryant Weber and wife Leone and an aunt Ada Waldvogel, both of Pettisville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 29 at W.R. Milward Mortuary-Southerland with Rev. James D. Miller officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford.
