Obituary - Hays H. Owens, Vincennes (IN) Sun Commercial (July 24, 1972)
Hays H Owens, 64, 1205 Oak St. died Monday 7:15 a.m. in Good Samaritan Hospital.
He was born in Bryantsville, Ky. Nov. 2, 1907, son of James N and Cora Durham Owens. He was a Prudential Insurance Co. salesman before a 25 year career in the U.S. Army and after retirement, was employed with the Duesterberg Drug Store. He was a member of the First Christian Church and Masonic Lodge No. 1, F&AM.
Surviving are the widow Mrs. Irene Baldwin Owens: two sons, Dr. Robert H Owens, Ft Wright, Ky., Thomas H Owens, Ft Lauderdale, Fla.; two sisters Mrs. Viola Temple, Orlando, Fla. and Mrs. Margaret Car, Erlanger, Ky.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral will be Wednesday, 10 a.m. Brockman and Son officiating. Burial and Masonic rites will be in Memorial Park. Friends may call at the chapel 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cancer Society.

Funeral for Hays H Owens was Wednesday, 10 a.m. Brockman and Son Chapel, the Rev. C.T. Denbo officiating. Mrs. C.T. Denbo was organist. Pallbearers were Joseph Marchino, James Marchino, Gilbert Carroll, Bernie Summers, Michael O'Toole and Kenneth Riggs. Burial was in Memorial Park Vincennes Masonic Lodge No. 1 F&AM conducted graveside rites.

Vincennes, Ind. a former Northern Kentucky resident and father of Dr. Robert H. H. Owens, Ft. Wright, died Monday in Vincennes. Mr. Owens, 64, was retired from the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky, where he was an athlete. Mr. Owens is survived by his wife, Mrs. Irene Baldwin Owens; two sons, Robert Ft. Wright, and Thomas, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Viola Temple, Orlando, Fla. and Mrs. Harry Carl Sr., Erlanger, and five grandchildren. Services will be today in Vincennes.
