Wilfred Coe
DWIGHT (PNS) - Wilfred C. Coe, 84, died at 8 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Hospital in Streator.
Mr. Coe obtained a bachelor's degree from Dennison University at Granville, Ohio, and a master's degree from the University of Chicago.
He taught school for 40 years, the last 10 years at Dwight Township High School. He retired in 1952.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the G.H. Tuttle residence at Atlanta, the Rev. Paul Beach officiating. Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 7 o'clock tonight at the Baker Funeral Home in Dwight.
He was born Oct. 8, 1884, at Upland, Pa., a son of Jabez and Susan Cursley Coe. He married Ada Ellis, August 28, 1912 at Atlanta. She died in 1966.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Swanson, St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Dorothy Robinson, Mazon; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and sisters and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Coe was a member of the Atlanta Baptist Church and the National Retired Teachers Association.
