Rough Playing Characterizes Match and Rodes is Ruled Out

The Wildcats more than evened up matters with the Georgetown College basketeers last night, for a lost game earlier in the season by defeating them here last night by the score of 32 to 18. Georgetown's margin of victory was a scant goal and a half.

Rough playing characterized the whole affray. Referee Littick was forced to declare Rodes of State out of the game on account of personal fouls. Seven fouls were called on State and nine were chalked up against Georgetown.

Pat Campbell, a 1917 "find," proved to be the most accurate goal thrower of either team. Five field goals were accredited to him. Longsworth and Schrader, in the first half, and Ireland, in the final period, deserved special mention. Sumners and Taylor perhaps did the best floor work for the losers. Georgetown's main trouble seemed to be in attempting goals from long distances.

WILDCATS GET THEIR REVENGE

The less said about the second Tiger-Wildcat scrap, which took place Wednesday night at State, the better. State supporters were crying "revenge," and the Wildcats got it - 32 to 18.

The game was a rough and tumble affair from the start, in which the Tigers seem to have lost more fur than the Wildcats. Referee Littick attempted to even the match by ejecting State's star foot ball man, Rodes, from the contest, but it was too late, for "our boys" could hit the basket no more. They made many attempts from the middle of the floor, but were not very adept at this style of shooting.

Longsworth, Campbell and Schrader were the trio that did most to apply the skids to the Tigers.

WILDCATS DEFEAT GEORGETOWN 32-18

The Wildcats of the University of Kentucky celebrated their final game of the basket ball season on their home floor by beating the Georgetown Tigers by a margin of 14 points. Wednesday night, the final count being 32 to 18.

The defeat of the visitors by the Blue and White quintet evens the series between the two schools this year, the former team having taken the Kentucky boys' measure in Georgetown several weeks ago.

Wednesday night's contest was not a pink tea performance by any means as both quintet played for all there was in it. Personal fouls were plentiful.

For Kentucky, Campbell, Captain Ireland, Schrader and Longsworth played their best game of the year. The opposition had great trouble in locating the net from a distance. The summary follows:

WILDCATS' LAST APPEARANCE HERE

The Wildcats of the University of Kentucky will make their last appearance on their home floor of the basketball season when they meet Georgetown College here at 8 o'clock tonight in the university gymnasium.

In the coming here of the Tigers, opportunity will be given Coach Tigert's charges to wreak vengeance on the result of a contest in the Scott county capital a few weeks ago that ended three points against the local players.

The probable lineup for the contest tonight as announced follows:

Georgetown: Henderson and Summers (captains), forwards; Taylor, center; and Wohlhold and Adams, guards; State: Captain Ireland and Campbell, forwards; Thompson or Longsworth, center; Schrader and Rodes, guards.

Coach Littick, of Centre College, will refereee.
