Groza, No. 15, jumps high into the air, uses his 6 feet 7 inches to seize ball bounding off backboard. He was big factor in recent 70-50 victory over St. John's. Nine Kentucky players are 6' 3" or more, are tough to guard.

The University of Kentucky has another great basketball team. For the fourth consecutive year, the Wildcats are headed for the Southeastern Conference championship and a national tournament berth. This season they won 12 straight before losing to the Oklahoma Aggies. Outstanding basketball has been the rule at Kentucky ever since Coach Adolph Rupp came there from Kansas in 1930. Rupp recruits superior players - tall, fast mountaineer lads - and gives them expert coaching. In 16 seasons, they won 283, lost 64. One of Kentucky's key triumphs this year was over St. John's of Brooklyn at New York's Madison Square Garden. On this and the following pages, LOOK presents action shots of that game, won by Kentucky 70- 50. They emphasize the Wildcats' strength under the basket and on defense.
