Obituary - Stanley Ridd Dies At 73; Was Retired, Louisville Courier-Journal (January 29, 1964)
From 1937 to 1952, he was manager of the Kettle River division of the creosoting firm, located at St. Louis, Mo. In 1952, he was transferred to the company's Louisville office, was made director of personnel, and served in that capacity until his retirement.
Ridd, a native of St. Louis, was 73, and lived at 3004 Valley Drive, Jeffersontown.
He was a member of the Jefferson Post of the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge and Harvey Browne Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Was U.K. Graduate
He was a life member of the American Wood Preservers Association and served on its board 10 years. Ridd was a chief maintenance mate in the United States Navy during World War I.
He was graduated in 1913 from the engineering school at the University of Kentucky.
Survivors are his wife, the former Edna Imhof, and a sister, Mrs. Charles Surran, Long Beach, Cal.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Foreman Funeral Home, 10600 Taylorsville Road. Burial will be in Cave Hill Cemetery.
