Obituary - Lexington Herald (March 17, 1984)

NICHOLASVILLE - Robert Y. Ireland, 90, of Knoxville, Tenn., and formerly of Nicholasville, a retired civil engineer who had worked for the Navy and husband of Susan Anderson Ireland, died Thursday at Park West Hospital in Knoxville after a long ilness. He also was the captain of the 1917 University of Kentucky basketball team. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home. Visitation is after 6 p.m. Sunday.
