Obituary - R.L. Fowler, horse agent, dies at 31, Lexington Herald-Leader (October 27, 1988) by Herald-Leader staff report
Fowler collapsed at Keeneland Race Course and was pronounced dead at St. Joseph Hospital, Fayette County Deputy Coroner Charles Howell said. An autopsy was to be performed today, he said.
Fowler, who came to Kentucky from Dearborn Heights, Mich., lettered in basketball at UK as a freshman in 1976. A forward, he played in 25 out of 30 games and averaged 3.6 points and 1.8 rebounds a game. He transferred to Iowa State University after a year.
He was a resident of 227 Stirrup Circle in Jessamine County.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Fowler, and two daughters, Laurie Fowler of Cincinnati and Kaitlin Fowler of Jessamine County.
Arrangements were incomplete at Whitehall Funeral Chapel in Lexington.
