Obituary - Charles Edward Albert Sr., Kansas City Star (July 9, 1998)
Charles Edward Albert Sr., 94, Overland Park, KS, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 1998, at the Forum of Overland Park. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Country Club Christian Church, 6101 Ward Pkwy.; burial in Mt. Mariah Cemetery. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Friday in the church parlor. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
Charles was born October 21, 1903, in Van Buren, IN, and lived in Kansas City MO, and Mission Hills, KS, for 67 years. Charles was a member and life deacon of the Country Club Christian Church, and a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Country Club Masonic Lodge 656 AF&AM.
He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1924. He was a member of the University of Kentucky Alumni Association, the Kentucky Triangle Fraternity, and the University of Kentucky K. Men's Club.
Before his retirement in 1970, he had been with Bailey Meter Company for 42 years, and served as manager of the area office.
He is survived by two sons and their wives, Charles E. Jr. and Mildred Albert, Cleveland, OH and W. Thomas and Susan Albert, Upland, CA; step-daughter, Mrs. Margaret Matthews, Dallas, TX; stepson and his wife, Robert L. and Sue Goodrich, Vancouver, WA; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
