Obituary - Dallas Morning News (April 6, 2014)
He was born October 26, 1948 in Dallas, Texas. He was a member of First Baptist Ovilla where he served as deacon. Lynn was preceded in death by his mother, Joy Weaver. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Debbie Shortnacy; daughters, Tracey & husband, Scott McKee of Midlothian, TX and Jeannie & fiance, Troy Henslee of Midlothian, TX. Also surviving are his father, James Ray Shortnacy of Ovilla, TX; two sisters, Marla & husband, Craig Collins of Siloam Springs, AR and Deena McCool of Plano, TX; 8 grandchildren, Courtney & Lyndsey Mach, Emilee McKee, Brennan, Preston & Dylan Williamson and Landon & Logan Henslee; one great granddaughter, Chandler Blum; numerous family members and special friends.
Lynn was a believer and follower of Jesus Christ and we have perfect peace knowing he is spending eternity with Him. Lynn worked for TXU/Oncor for 40 plus years.
He enjoyed officiating basketball at the high school and collegiate levels for over 35 years. He was also a member & Past Master of the John C. Pelt Masonic Lodge in Duncanville.
An amazing husband and father, Lynn loved the Lord and loved his family. His grandchildren remember him as a man that served the Lord & spread the love of God to those around him. They also cherish the amount of time he invested in their lives.
Funeral Service is 11 AM, Monday April 7, 2014 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel. Burial follows at Little Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
