Frank Schlosser Dies; Prominent Athlete
Frank B. Schlosser, 63, an outstanding athlete here before World War I, died yesterday at his home in Lexington, Va., after a short illness.
A native of Washington, Mr. Schlosser had been employed with the Bureau of Internal Revenue for 29 years - the last nine in Houston, Tex.
He first came into prominence in athletics with the YMCA here around 1905 and starred in track and basketball. He engaged in both of these sports at Georgetown University, where he received his law degree.
Mr. Schlosser also coached basketball at Georgetown. He served overseas in World War I in a machine gun battalion, rising to the rank of captain.
Mr. Schlosser retired from the Government in May of last year.
He leaves his widow, Mrs. Louise Seal Schlosser, and a daughter, Anne Louise, both of Lexington; a brother, Lyman S. of Washington, and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Noldt of Rochester, N.Y. and Mrs. Ruth Rittenour, Washington.
Services were to be held today in Lexington. He will be buried tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. at Arlington Cemetery.
