Old Friends Here Receive Sad News
A message came to friends here Tuesday telling of the death of Mr. E.W. McLeod, of Detroit, Mich., who made his home in this city for a number of years and has been a frequent visitor here.
He was in Lexington for a week at the time of the Bradley Charity Race meet and went to Miami, Fla., to spend the winter. A short time ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis while on the street in Miami and was taken to the Jackson Memorial hospital in that city where his death occurred on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Brent, who are in Miami for the season visited Mr. McLeod at the hospital and sent the telegram to one of his best friends here.
Mr. McLeod was a bright and attractive man and came to Lexington about the first part of this century to be head coach for football at the University of Kentucky. He was also an accomplished newspaper man and was connected with papers in Detroit and in the South. Many old friends in Lexington are saddened at the news of his death.
