Obituary - Edler, Fisher Redsecker, Wald and Related Families
Alexander Wadden Fisher was a YMCA Physical Director and Secretary over a period of 40 years, A. W. served in a number of "Y" locations throughout the eastern and central states; including Galveston, Texas; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Columbia, South Carolina and Knoxville, Tennessee. During the years of World War I he was attached to the US Military in Europe with the functional or honorary rank of Colonel. Following the war he represented the YMCA in several recovering European countries including France, Poland and Rumania. After the European tours he served the "Y" in West Virginia and Ohio. After retiring from the YMCA in 1932 he directed a Methodist Episcopal summer camp in Pennsylvania for more than ten years and enjoyed winters in St. Petersburg, Florida where he was active in church choir and many other civic activities.
He was born on 2 September 1872 Dundas, Rice Co, MN; noted as 7 years of age in 1880 census, 27 years of age in 1900 census. He married Edith Avanelle Cole, daughter of John Wesley Cole and Annie Rebecca Badger, on 28 September 1893 Lincoln, Lancaster Co, NE. Alexander Wadden Fisher survived Edith Avanelle Cole on 20 July 1954 St Petersburg, Pinellas Co, FL; Death info from obit notice and church program. Alexander Wadden Fisher died on 19 March 1964 St Petersburg, Pinellas Co, FL, at age 91. He was buried Memorial Park, St Petersburg, Pinellas Co, FL; Lots 33 and 34, block 1, section 7, division H (Pine Lawn).
