W.C. Cowell
W.C. "Brady" Cowell died Saturday night, April 15, at his home in Deland, Fla. He was 89.
Cowell was football coach at Iola High School from 1922 until 1925. He had made his home in Deland for 35 years. He retired as athletic director at Stetson University at Deland at the age of 70.
He married Cornelia Copening. She died in 1983.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in Deland.

WARREN C. "BRADY" COWELL, 89, 533 N. San Souci Ave., DeLand, died Saturday. Born in Clay Center, Kansas, he moved to DeLand from Iola, Kansas, in 1935. He was athletic director at Stetson University, DeLand, from 1935 to 1968. He was a World War I Army veteran. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clay Center and First Baptist Church, DeLand.
